About Our Wine Shop Selection Process
"As a wine merchant I offer a service - specifically, I taste the bad wine so you don't have to! How many times have you gone to your local market to find a dizzying array of labels, grape varieties and pricing with no direction or assistance? Do you think that the clerk chose the wines, or was the decision "corporate"? We take the time to taste, educate ourselves, keep up with trends, vintages, and vinification techniques. The Wine Depot offers a grand selection of wines by the glass that are available to sample at no charge before you buy. All are personally selected for value and enjoyment. In addition to our Friday monthly wine tastings, we offer a "drop in" casual tasting every Wednesday evening at 5pm. Our wine advice is always free!"

2005 Rainier Ridge Chardonnay -- Washington State.
Crisp, dry, but with nice pear, melon, and lemon fruit. There is no oak flavor -- clean, fresh and food friendly, but very pleasing as a summer (It IS still summer) sipper. Well made, no flaws. Serve at 55 degrees. Excellent value for a good, all purpose white. $8.99
2007 Jorge Ordonez Old Vines Garnache de Fuego -- Calataud, Spain.
It's back !! 300 plus cases in the past 3 vintages -- 75 year old grenache vines (garnacha) -- the wine flat ROCKS!! Rich, way beyond its price. Stellar wine for peanuts. $8.99
